Kamo shrine autumn festival (sword dance)

Kamo shrine autumn festival is held every year on October 10th at Kamo shrine in Onogo area. Young boys are dedicating a sword dance called “Hana Tori Dance” and they are prepared with birds’ feathers (tail feathers from copper pheasant and pheasant) on their head.

This traditional dance has been designated as protected intangible cultural asset in Kochi Prefecture.
