Pray the god Ryu for good catch of fish and village prosperity for the coming year.
Nomi no shiobakari

This festival is held every year at night on January 14th on the ancient Japanese calendar. During the day, a bamboo decorated with strip paper of five colors and measuring more than 15 meters is standing up in the center of the subunit village and, in the middle of the night the youngs one are transporting it to the sea while pounding on the ground. With their power they are making the bamboo stand in the sea and seeing them enter in the cold water is an unusual ritual. It is said that if the next day the bamboo has fell in the sea, it will be a good catch of fish and if it is on the coast side then it is going to be good harvest for the year. This festival has been designated as intangible folklore culture asset.
